Chosen to bear fruit

David Wilkerson had a cool blog entry the other day that talked about what it means to bear fruit. Hint: It is more than just saving lost souls. . .
Enjoy
“Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit” (John 15:16).
Many sincere Christians think bearing fruit means simply to bring souls to Christ. But to bear fruit means something much larger even than soulwinning.
The fruit Jesus is talking about is Christ-likeness. Simply put, bearing fruit means reflecting . . .(More)
Wisconsin Prayer Rally 9-25-2009 UPDATED

Let’s join hands around the entire State Capitol Building on 9/25/09 at the Wisconsin Prayer Rally
Men, Women, and Children of all ages – For Such a Time as This!
Please pass this along to other believers in our city and state
What a powerful visual declaration to the Pledge of Allegiance, “United We Stand as One Nation Under God”! We believe this will have the same kind of impact, spiritually, as when Joshua’s army marched around Jericho in releasing the prophetic destiny of our state and the establishing of the Government of God. During an evangelism training prayer time, in a circle of “on fire” UW Students, we sensed there was a “birthing” of something new in evangelism to advance the Kingdom of God in every sphere of society. In praying for the Rally, an intercessor said, “It was like the Bride of Christ was surrounding man’s government with love and the righteousness of Jesus Christ in these prophetic acts and prayers”!
Also, did you know that on the same day we are gathering in Madison there will be a gathering of approximately 50,000 Muslims at our nation’s Capitol in Washington D. C. for prayer from 4am – 7pm? They will be praying to their false god and attempting to bring attention to Islam at the same time we are humbling ourselves before God and interceding at our state capitol. We doubt this is a coincidence. They have a website set up for this event. To view it go to: islamoncapitolhill.com. We must continue to lift up our president and government officials in prayer. God has us in Madison on the 25th “for such a time as this,” to break open the heavens for Wisconsin. If you have not been planning to join us in Madison, please reconsider and ask the Lord what He would have you do.
The following is a quote from a UW student who so beautifully answers it this way, “What does God want to do next? He is birthing a new era, a new government – the Government of God in our city, our state, our nation, and our world! And we may prophetically stand with Him and declare that it is so, submitting ourselves to this new Kingdom Order, advancing His purposes and not those of the world. That is the next stage: an age of proclamation, declaring the Goodness of God. This is one more piece of the puzzle – and He will continue to show you and me the next steps as we walk forward with Him.”
“For I, says the Lord, will be to her a wall of fire round about, and I will be the glory in the midst of her. . . Sing and rejoice, O Daughter of Zion, for behold, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of you, says the Lord. And many nations shall join themselves to the Lord in that day and shall be My people. And I will dwell in the midst of you, and you shall know that the Lord of hosts has sent me to you.” Zechariah 2:5, 10-11
We are looking for as many of you as possible to not only come yourselves, but to actively invite other believers.

More Information:
Attached to this e-mail is our beautiful color flyer for you to e-mail to friends or print and distribute. On the color flyer is a link to information about parking and parking fees. Here is the link as well: http://www.cityofmadison.com/parking/downtownmap.html
You may use any of the parking ramps. We recommend the Overture Center Ramp, # 6 on the map, corner of Henry and W. Mifflin Sts. as a good spot to park. It is about three blocks from the Best Western Inn on the Park, which is our gathering place. You can park all day and evening fairly inexpensively in one of the ramps. You can drop off friends at the Best Western, but parking at the hotel is only permitted for those who are lodging there overnight.
If you are staying overnight in Madison, it would probably be a good idea to make reservations now. There is a sports event going on the same weekend we will be there, so accommodations could be somewhat limited. Hotels in downtown Madison are very expensive, and some are requiring a two-night stay, so hotels and motels a few minutes outside Madison will be cheaper. If you put in a search term such as “motels near Madison, WI” you will come up with quite a few options to choose from.
We will see you at the prayer rally in Madison! Please pray into the rally as much as possible between now and then. Prayer preparation is important, if we are to accomplish all that needs to be done in the spirit on September 25th.

9-11 Campus Worship Event
September 3, 2009 by Gary Halverson

There is a very significant worship event coming up on Library Mall on Friday 9/11
A Day to Call on the Lord. There will be a worship tent set up and there is a need for worshippers between 1:30 – 5:00pm for 30-45 minutes sets. At this point it is acoustic worship at the tent but they are checking into the specifications on the amps allowed. The purpose is simple, to declare the beauty of Jesus through worship. This will be a time to worship to the audience of One and for intimate worship to go up as a fragrance before the throne of God drawing people unto the beauty of Christ Jesus. We have been asked to help get the word out.
Brian Montrey (Mad City worship team) will be opening the event 12:30 –1:30 pm and concluding the worship 5- 7pm at the State Street Podium along with Prayer.
The call is going out for worshippers and intercessors to stand in the gap in this critical time – For such at time as this!

The 2009 Men’s retreat will be a little different this year! The good news first is that there will be no cost ($10 suggested donation)! Secondly we are having it right here in Madison at the Mad City Church offices. Bring your sleeping bag as we will have the offices all night Friday Oct 2 through early afternoon Saturday Oct 3.
Doors will open at 6pm on Friday where we will have tons of food, followed by a corporate time of worship music. After that we will be offering two teaching sessions that you can choose from. Then we will all come back together for a time of prayer and worship which will lead into free time. We will have the big screen playing movies. There will also be strategy games, card game tournaments, and many other cool things to do.
Come with an expectation to have an encounter with the Living One True God and and a willingness to hear His voice. You will then be preparing a way for Him to meeting in this place!
Mark your calendars for Oct 2-3. More details soon. . . See ya there!
